Park Fixture Program and Memorial Donations
The Foundation for Minneapolis Parks offers the opportunity for you to select designated gift options that are a lasting way to enhance parks and programs. Commemorate a special person or occasion through sponsorship of a bench or tree, or help keep our gardens blooming through a general donation to the Forever Flower Fund. This is a wonderful way to pay tribute to someone who has touched your life.
Flower Fund or Healthy Tree Fund, any amount: These funds have been established to help sustain and enhance the forestry and gardens throughout the park system. For your donation, you or your honorees will receive a certificate of recognition. (Sorry, no plaques will be placed in the parks or gardens.)
Adopt a Tree $200: Your contribution to the forestry fund pays for tree maintenance and memorial banding of an existing tree of your choice for a period of 5 years.
Plant a Tree $600: Your contribution pays for transplanting, replacement (first 2 years), memorial banding and tree maintenance for 5 years. Donors work with Foundation & Forestry Staff to select tree type and location.
Adopt a Bench $1,000: Select an existing park bench to honor friends and family, or celebrate occasions. Your contribution allows for bench refurbishment, maintenance, and placement of a commemorative plaque for a 5-year period.
New Bench $5,000: Your support enables MPRB to place a new bench in the park system. This contribution pays for the installation of a cement slab, bench, placement of a memorial plaque on the leg of the bench and maintenance for a 10-year period.
Please note: There are no bench opportunities at Lake Harriet, except through People for Parks. Limited options at the Peace and Rose Gardens, and Lake of the Isles.
